Hello all...

I just wanted to thank everyone for their inspiring e-mails! I'm thrilled that so many of you have enjoyed "Yes Dear" and I am very excited to be going into my second season with the show. During my hiatus this summer, I did an Off-Broadway musical called "The It Girl" and had a wonderful time. (It's a good thing I kept up my voice lessons last year!) Thank you for your very kind comments and I wish you all the very best!

Sincerely,
Jeannie

Hi Jeannie, I just wanted to say, like many others, that i found you were fabulous in Mr. Holland's Opus and was disappointed that we couldn't hear your beautiful voice on the soundtrack. I was wondering if you could tell me where i could get a copy some of the songs you've recorded. Also, many have written that the song 'someone to watch over me' is on this site yet when i click on the images of Mr. Holland's Opus i can't seem to get the song. Love your work and hope to see you in other future films.

Hi! I just wanted to thank you. I am 15 years old and an aspiring actress. After I watched Mr. Holland's Opus, I decided to sing "I Got Rythym" as my audtition song for a professional theater in CA. I got the part, thanks to you. Please don't ever stop doing what you do. It's nice to watch someone who shares the same passion of theater that I do. Thank you so much. You are my idol.

Jeannie, I'm not sure if you'll have the time to read all these, but I just wanted to add to the complements on your stunning voice. I just finished watching Mr. Holland's Opus, and I couldn't place where I recognized you from. Once I logged onto your website and saw that you are also on Yes, Dear, it clicked. And you were always familiar to me as I watched that show too. I think you are a great actress, but I wish there were more opportunities to hear you sing. As a singer myself, I am envious of the clarity and quality of your voice. I'll keep checking your website to see if you'll ever be singing in Los Angeles. Keep up the great work!

Have just watched Mr. Hollands Opus for the umpteen time, and you still steal the movie for me. A great performance and voice, I do not know how Mr. Holland forced himself not to go to New York with Rowena. I am also suprised you are not a BIG star with that beautiful voice. I have just found your web page in looking to see where your career went after Mr. Hollands Opus. I wish you much success in your career and life. With best wishes, Jerry Robinson

Hi Jeannie, I'm a musician in Washington, a singer at that, studying vocal performance and music education. I remember my early teens seeing Uncle Buck for the first time and having the biggest crush on you. (who didn't???) A few years later while I was in High School I saw Mr. Holland's Opus and not only was I greatly inspired but was totally swept away by your singing. I must confess until visiting your site just now I had never seen "Yes Dear." I'll be looking forward to it now. :-) I just wanted to say I love your voice and I look forward to seeing more of you. Take care and God Bless, Gregory Carroll

I started watching the series Yes, Dear. I noticed that person looked familiar from somewhere. I am watching Mr. Holland's Opus right now. I can't believe that is the same person. Excellent voice, too. I love the tv series, Yes, Dear. I watch it every time that it is on. Eventually in the near future I would like to interview you because I am going to be a journalist after I get out of college.

I downloaded "someone to watch over me" from Mr. Holland's Opus and (perhaps not coincidently) the artist was listed as Julie Andrews! That's got to be one of the greatest compliments someone can get, being mistaken for Julie Andrews, whose voice is indescribably beautiful. Way to go, girl, keep working magic with those vocal chords!

Hi Jeannie, It's so great to see someone that graduated w/ me from high school succeed as you did. I can see we have both felt the need to utilize our creative talents later on in life ;0) Loved your website (I am now a web designer). ...Playing the flute in the band while you choral guys accompanied us ...my, seems like it was ages ago. That was so much fun. I guess you could say music was the focal point when I was in high school. Hmmm...kinda miss it! You must of had fun starring in Mr. Holland's opus ...I loved it. My mother was wondering how you were. She talked to your mom numerous times while you attended all attended our church back then. I myself have moved out of Easton. Do you keep in touch with the folks from high school? It would be great to hear back from you to see how you're doing. Take care and congrats on all of your achievements! Beth Wade

It's not something I do. Sending messages to someone that I only know as fictional characters on the screen or in my television, but something struck me tonight as I was watching Mr. Holland's Opus. Firstly, I must say that watching you perform in the movie made my heart leap. You have a beautiful voice and bear a striking resemblance to the woman in my life. In fact, at one point in your career, during Uncle Buck, your facial expressions match hers almost identically. There's an asymmetrical quality about your eyes that gives your face character and an undeniable beauty. I am only thankful that I am fortunate enough to have actually found the woman that I once “fell in love” with on the silver screen in real life. How cool is that? Of course, I’m the only man on earth who has written something of this nature (yeah, sure). “Oh, another wacko out there,” you say, but seriously. Thank you. I do have a question for you, and given the nature of the internet, I know that you may never read this yourself, but I would like to know how close in character you are to Rowena Morgan. You know, I was flipping through the channels years ago and suddenly saw you on stage for a concert somewhere and at that point realized that you actually had the voice that was heard on Mr. Holland’s Opus. As I watched her leave for New York on that bus I could only think of asking you how similar the character is to you. That’s all. And, if you actually read this yourself, I hope that I have made a difference in your day. Jon

We're currently in Dana Point, CA after cruising our boat down from Washington. Enjoying certain favorite movies and soundtracks. Barb and I were listing our favoritie actors/actresses and singers and found we put both you (from Mr. Holland's Opus) and Fiona Flanagan near the top of our list. Much different singers to be sure but still our favorites. I somehow expected you to end up on Broadway with such a voice and wondered where your career went and was it more acting than singing and if so why not the other way round. Somehow people like you and Fiona F. never seem to get 'really hot and at the top' even though your abilities are much better than those who do. Anyway, and if nothing more than on the strength of one movie role, you should know that a good portion of the tears this crusty hard-corp old paratrooper secretly sheds when watching the magic created in that wonderful movie were and are and will continue to be because of you. Thank you for those moments in our lives. Michael Orton and Barbara Wrede on the S/V Se Fjern . . .somewhere at sea

I can't believe I haven't seen your new show yet. They don't advertise it enough. I love your website, but your pics don't do you justice. Too blurry. I really want to thank your for your role in Uncle Buck. I'm the same age as you and I could really connect with the movie. Everytime I see it it takes me back to high school. I am an old man of 38 years and I miss this kind of classic movies such as THE SOUND OF MUSIC or MY FAIR LADY. Hey Mrs. Kelly! First I want to say how much my husband and I love your show, "Yes, Dear"! Being a stay at home mom my self I can really relate. What I'm writing to ask you about is your hair. My husband loves your hair, he told me last night while watching the show, "I want your hair like that!" Which says alot because he loves my natural curly hair and has never told me to change it in any way. What I am wanting to know is...Is your hair naturally curly? What products do you use? How do you fix it? Do you really let it air dry, like you said on the show last night or do you use a defuser? What kind of cut do you have? Do you have long layers, short or surface layers? Like I said my hair is naturally curly and I wear the length medium/long with lots of layers because its so thick, my curl is similar to yours but your curls are more defined than mine. If you have time to answer my questions my husband and I would greatly appreciate it!! Keep up the good work with the show!!! We hope to see it again next season, and the next, and the next....

Jeannie, I just wanted to let you know that I am a big fan of Yes, Dear. It is refreshingly funny and although the whole cast is incredible and work very well together, I believe your talent just reaches another level in your role as Kim. I am glad that I read some of the other messages because I didn't realize how many films you have been in and now I want to see them all but especially Mr. Holland's Opus. I don't watch a whole lot of television but one show I never miss is Yes, Dear. I just wanted to remind you, even though you probably already know, of how talented and beautiful that you are and I wish you the very best and I pray that you will continue to use your extraordinary God given talents and that God would continue to richly bless your life. Jeannie, your talent is rare and thank you so much for sharing it with the rest of the world. You are loved much and I will begin praying for you daily because I know Holloywood is not an easy place to survive and remain emotionally intact. Hi, Jean! My name is Brittney and I am 14 years old. My mother home schools me and I just wanted to tell you that your work has only inspired me more to work towards my dream as a romance novelest. I love you in "Yes, Dear". It's so nice to see a television show that parents will actually let their kids' watch, without having to turn off their television sets due to content. I've never seen "Mr. Holland's Opus" but I'm going to rent it. I just received my copy of "The Fantasticks" in the mail! You are so pretty! Anyway, as long as you keep acting, I will keep writing! Thank you!

Hi! Jean, You are one of the greatest actresses in the world. You were great playing as Tia Russell in Uncle Buck with John Candy! I didn't know you were married! How long you'd been married to James? I'm so happy that you're 29 years old now and grown-up. I remember you when you was a teenager back in 1990. Continue your success in acting and one day I'll be a motion pict- ure actress just like you!! Keep up the good work!! Sincerely, Kia J. Owens

Miss Kelly, My name is Colby, I'm a 29 year old guy from California. I just wanted to say hi and thank you for sharing your talents with us! Oh, and how's this for a little compliment: When I saw you in Mr. Holland's Opus, especially when you sang "Someone to watch over me", I basically fell over. Wow. You sang so beautifully, and your face is so pretty.....I was in shock. I still can't get over how absolutely stunning you were in those scenes. That is so cool, to have those kind of moments in your career frozen in time in a movie, so we all can "watch over you". Ha! So I was taken aback....can you tell? I did a little investigative work on the net, and looked into what you have been doing lately. Musicals, Off-Broadway stuff, ...nice! Very impressive. You got great reviews for "The It Girl", and it seems that all the people who visit this site have so many nice things to say about you. I love it! Congratulations to you, Miss Kelly. I will keep an eye peeled for you in the future, and hopefully the next time I see you, I'll be sitting down. This way I won't hurt myself too badly when I'm smitten by your gorgeous looks and that beautiful voice. Take care and good luck! -Colby

Hi Louisa, I am from Worcester, MA also and I'm wondering how to get my daughter Michele Renee' in the door for a modeling career. They say you need professional experience, but how do you get it if they don't give you an opportunity? She has had several runway jobs locally. It's kind of a catch 22, right? I'd love to email her picture to you. She is almost 12 years old. Both her and I watch you every Monday night! We love the show. Help Louisa - where can I go to get that big break?

I am a volunteer for STANDUP FOR KIDS, a nationally acclaimed, non-profit organization that helps homeless and street kids. I’m writing to ask for a hat that you own, which we can use to help us keep homeless and street kids! Every week for more than eleven years, STANDUP FOR KID’S volunteers have walked the streets, alleys, river beds, and sewers assisting America’s homeless and street kids. As the largest organization in the US, thousands of volunteers are now committed to this rescue effort. From our first program in San Diego in 1990, STANDUP FOR KIDS has grown to more than 20 programs in ten states and Washington, DC. In the first quarter of this year, volunteer street counselors provided more than 6,600 meals to homeless and street kids. Through our first annual Hats Off For Kids campaign, STANDUP FOR KIDS hopes to raise enough money to allow it to meet its 2002 goal of building programs in three new cities. We need your help to accomplish this goal. We would like to auction off a hat of yours as part of our “Hats Off For Kids” Campaign. Any hat would do - your fans will buy it because it was yours. We will be auctioning off the hats on the web this November. If you could donate a hat, or hats, you would be helping a great charity and supporting a campaign that we hope to make an annual event. If you would like to donate a hat(s), please let me know, taska@bright.net and our National Office will send an official request, and certificate to be signed, to validate the has as belonging to you. Please include address where materials can be sent. We hope that we can count on your support for just ONE hat. Thank You! Hats Off For Kids,

Hi, Jeannie. I just wanted to let you know that the first time I became a great fan of yours was when you sang "Someone To Watch Over Me" on the Boston Pops "Pops Goes the 4th" concert. You were absolutely astounding, and the simplicity with which you delivered that song broke my heart. Your delivery was beautiful, and after seeing that, I rushed out to rent Mr. Holland's Opus, and was equally impressed. I still have a tape of that concert, and I still watch that song over and over again, because it inspires me in my own theatre career. You are an awesome performer, and I thank you for your inspiration.

Dear Miss Kelly, Yesterday I saw you on "The Day Linclon Was Shot." I knew that I had see Abraham Lincoln on Terminator 1 and 2, but could not rest until I figured out which movie I had seen you on. Yes, it was "Mr. Holland's Opus." What a movie! You were , of course, beautiful, but for that same reason, you were "scary." I noticed that you grew up around Boston. It was Concord, Mass. for me. Have you ever been told that you could play the part of Sarah Brightman? Were a movie to be done on her, you should get the part. Pardon the flattery, but you are more beautiful than she is. You would be great. AGWESQ1@aol.com

Hi Jean, I'm a big fan. "Uncle Buck" is a favorite, as is Mr Holland's Opus. Are you working on any big screen projects now? Can't wait to see another film featuring you! BTW, was that you in a MCI (sprint?) ad a couple years ago? Your "character" was simultaneously endearing and irritating. I'm sure that, as usual you were delivering the goods. I wish you all the success that the theater world can give you!

Hello...Hey Jean! and her fans! I saw the movie a while back called The Cyberstalking and immediately feel in love with it..everyone who knows me, knows this is one of my favorite movies...So Morgan and I have teamed up because there is NOTHING on the internet for The Cyberstalking with Jean singing Holly. So Morgan created an amazing Movie with all four scenes of Jean Singing and put it together and I made a relatively decent Mp3 of Holly...and Morgan got the most amazing images from the show! Forgive me if my server is slow. Thanks. -Adam www.shadowdwellers.com/cyberstalking.html

I have just recently started watching the show and I find it delightful. So many shows now have nothing but violence and sex. You have a great voice. I work at a radio station in New Jersey and I love music. I just thought I would write to say thank you because you don't hear that alot in the world.

Hollywood is so over-rated, where as Jean Louisa Kelly Is way underated. In the quest for Hollywood to find actresses, it seems they let some of the best ones fall through. Keep up the great Work.

Since the first time I saw Uncle Buck i just could'nt get more impressed with the beauty and talent of Jeanie. I lost her track until Mr. Holland and then again. At last i found this web page just to confirm why i'd like so much to meet a woman like Ms. Kelley and i only want to tell you how much i admire you and want to see you in more films and buy all your CDs when you record them. How much would i like to see you perform in Broadway or... dare i say here in Puerto Rico sometime?. We are about the same age so i think this crush will last forever. Keep on going and showing the world how great an artist you are.

Ms. Kelly, I first saw you in Mr. Holland's Opus and thought that you were a welcome addition to the movie plot. I watch the video often because I am a fan of Richard Dryfuss, but also because of the way you do the song "Someone to watch over me". Please tell me that you actually sang the song because it is one of the best versions I have ever heard. Keep up the wonderful job that you and the rest of the cast are doing on Yes Dear. The show is great. I'll always be one of your biggest fans. Thanks.

It would really help out a speech I am doing for a class especially since you performed in Uncle Buck while you attended the school. Thanx a bunch

Hello to all that read this. MY name is Meredith and I ahve been singing for my entire life. At one point I was realy good, I was in the opera Tosca at age 11, but now I am unable to sing in public. Oh well. Sminging is my one true love. I would just like to say that Ms. Kelly is amazing. Completly astounding. I have never in my life heard someone with such a beautiful and distinct voice. Her singing sends chills down my spine. I hope that all that listen to her realize her ability. Good luck if you read this Ms. Kelly. Thank you for the inspiration and entertainment. Now retired have time to enjoy my music and the music of others. After watching Mr Hollands Opus for the 100th time managed to watch the credits to see that it was actually you signing. Your voice Jean is one of those that bring a mixture of tears and goose bumps to the listener. Please do you have albums of you singing on CD or DVD. Do you ever travel overseas singing. The combination of your music talent and beauty make an old man very happy to be alive. Thank you Murray.

Dear Jean, I had the curious and delightful pleasure of finally seeing "Mr Holland's Opus" on free to air TV in Adelaide, Australia. To me your character, represented a turning point for Mr Holland. To hear a voice so pure and so full of emotion (notwithstanding the context of the film) would have made many an actor stand up and take notice. Your character represented (almost akin to Roma Downey - Touched by an Angel), the element to rekindle his musical passion. Well done young lady. Regards Paul Whelan Adelaide Australia

This is a really nice site! Enjoyed the Uncle Buck pages as I enjoyed the movie very much, particularly the last scene with you and John Candy, about which I posted a few years back on The John Candy Sound Machine site's board. I have John's photo on the "Thanks" page on my Mary Stuart Masterson site, the Guestbook Gateway page. I plan to order the DVD of the Fantasticks as the musical has been playing since I turned 7 years old, and plan to see the stage production in NYC later this year, or BUST. Still kicking myself for not going the last time I visited NYC. Good luck with your series on CBS. I'll post your site's URL next visit to the John Candy Sound Machine.

Now, we all have to get behind you and support lobbying CBS or some of the other networks, including AMC, to run this movie on their channels! We have to help you get exposure out there to show people that GREAT FILMS are still being made by 'Fantastick' Actors and ACTRESSES! Hope you get sales reports from MGM that BLOW the ROOF OFF! I'll be showing my copy to friends at a party soon! Maybe I should buy more copies to give out? Well, fans, let's get out there and lobby! YES DEAR is really funny, keep-up the good work!
